Biography

Oscar Saenz III is someone with that innate drive for creativity.  He has currently completed literally hundreds of paintings, and his obsession to try out new ideas and styles just keeps growing bigger. His mother is  a retired minister, an amazing artist and a published writer.  His father is a retired research scientist. Oscar went to engineering school, but, upon discovering his obsession with mathematics, he realized that only by balancing his analytical side with his artistic side it made him feel whole.

Oscar was originally a self-taught artist.  As a child Oscar was very obsessed with creating new things. He would actually make his own toys, create entire worlds out of clay, or take existing toys, paint them, or modify them.  Oscar recalls that his room was not filled with the "so-called" traditional baby items. His mother created an oil painting of a stuffed animal lion with a blanket. His father, being the utmost practical man would endeavor to find new ways of constructing frames for his mother’s art projects. He started his first serious painting at the age of 7 and has been creating and painting his whole life.

Oscar’s parents were vigorous travelers.  He recalled his first experience at the National Museum in D.C. and the horrified looks by security as he stroked his 6 year old hands over the Jackson Pollack's and Georgia O'Keiffes. He didn’t understand why he wasn't allowed to touch them. Oscar was the featured artist on Ovation TV.com the last week of October of 2008. His work has been called "Aesthetically Charming," ... "Warm and Inviting," and "Masculine, and Yet Peaceful" . He currently has done a variety of pieces for several different people, places, and collectors from around the country, and around the world.

Currently, Oscar is enrolled in The Bachelor of Fine Arts Program at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas  and is Serving as the President of the Visual Arts Society
